Question Re: climate sync and fan control.

So im very sure that when i got my 2019 , the fan control was always displayed on one of the rotory dials when in Sync mode.

When not in sync mode both would show climate temp.

When in sync mode the drivers side dial showed and contoled temp. The passenger side dial showed and controled fan speed until Sync mode was terminated.

But some time over the many updates that have occured, when in Sync mode, i now have to press the fan button to enable control of the fan speed. The dial then switches back to temp display.

I prefered the one touch operation compared to the present two touch operation.

Anyone else remember the first senario or when it changed?

So this may not be a topic of interest....yet!!!! But, i will post what i found anyway.

The S20B update did in fact stop the passenger climate dial from acting as the one touch fan speed control when in sync mode. A safety feature, i think. It allowed eyes on the road and less fiddling.

S20B was also responsible for eliminating the drivers side dial from scrolling through and selecting the driving modes. Now you can only change the modes by touch screen. Not so much a safety concern.

Update S20B1 did not return these features. And i just did the upate to S20C. So far this one did not return these features either.

Hope this helps, if anyone cares!! Haha.
Cheers!

Thanks for the info on the various updates. This answers a few questions about the changes. Thank you for that. I have not been able to find info about updates.

I actually like that they eliminated the driver side dial scrolling through the drive modes. I've found myself accidentally moving the dial and switching to sand/gravel or snow mode while going 75 on the highway. I wish they would give us more info on the updates or make it easier to find. Thanks!

Agreed. The terrain control is better without the rotory selector.
