Door handle cover came off....again!

So has any one had the painted cover piece on the door handle come off?

My passenger door handle cover came off and the dealer replaced it .

But now the cover on the drivers handle came off in a car wash. The carwash staff and I searched the carwash tunnel but could not find it.

Not sure if it will be found and I expect the dealer won't want to use warranty again to replace this one too. I think they should pay.

Is it a design flaw if it can't go though a car wash without the handle coming apart??

Any one know if the handle cover is for sale on line? There are plenty of decorative stickers that stick on the cover, but I need the actual cover piece with button.

Was your doors unlocked? I think I recall reading in the manual not to use automatic car washes, LOL! Expect us to hand wash the Velar all the time? Too delicate? This is an off-Road vehicle company, right?

Haha....that's what I thought too. Every car I've owned has had handles that stick out. None of them came apart in a wash.

And yes, your right. Handles were likely in the unlocked position. I got out and the car wash staff takes it through the tunnel. I met them at the other end.

The handles need to be flush but the doors can't be locked when it's in neutral without someone inside to lock the door.
So from now on I stay in the car and only get the outside cleaned at the car wash.

I've never had to spend so much time preparing a car for a simple car wash!! Haha

I drove my 2020 out of the dealership for 2 miles, until home, and lost one of these pieces on the way. Design flaw for sure.....might crazy glue the 4 of them on now :-)
