The Velar makes me want to be a rear seat passenger instead of the driver with so many amenities; rear seat entertainment system, climate control settings and USB chargers in the middle arm rest.

people said that about cars that were bigger and more suitable for rear seat passengers than the Velar but even those were fun to drive, a good example of that is the Mercedes S-Class.

No doubt driving the Velar will be a joy even with the 2.0 liter engines, it seems to handle those corners cleanly at substantial speed. Theough petrol fuel economy could be better.

it gets even better in the future since last i heard they want to launch an SVR version that gets down to 1,800 kg all thanks to heavy use of aluminum, what ever amount they use, safety just better be right at the top, its a softer metal after all.

Then I may we willing to wait a bit and see just what they have to offer. Even with the same engine, with a 1,800 kg body the Velar would see a sizable weight reduction. Where did you hear this from?

Forgot the article I heard it from but I believe it was with an interview with a JLR exec. If you google that it should come up.
Even if you look at its rivals that weight does come in about close enough, so its just within the segment norm.
