New to Range Rover

Earlier this week I purchased my first Range Rover -- the Velar P380 HSE. A year ago I purchased a Jaguar F-Pace S, and while it's a beautiful vehicle, I just didn't love it. Before the Jag I had a Jeep SRT. Trading it for the F-Pace was probably the biggest car buying mistake I'd ever made. Fell in love with the Velar, and not looking back. Looking forward to sharing and learning from others in the forum.

Congrats on the new Velar! the F-Pace was actually on my radar as well, but I just kept reading about quality problems on those things and held off form bying one.
Hope the Ranger Rover Velar treats your better!

Thanks, Velarian. The F-Pace is a fine SUV, but the problems with the ICTP were really aggravating at that price point. Odd that the same system in the Velar seems more stable, although not perfect.

Keep us posted on how you like living with the Velar because it seems to be a strong product. But given your ownership history, it will be put through its paces.

Do you see yourself getting an SVR version down the road? I bet you're missing all that SRT8 torque!

Congrats on your first RR! Welcome to the community and the brand. This new model is no doubt a big step forward for the company and I hope that JLR utilizes some of the new styling cues on the Velar across their lineup. I think JLR could improve the pricing on the options list though, because things get carried away pretty quick on this model.

So far, so good with the Velar. I definitely intend to put it through its paces. It's handled everything well to this point.

And yes, I think I'd be a candidate for an SVR, but it probably will come down to the bottom line. I'll be interested in seeing the finished product.

I loved the power of the SRT, but when you live in a metropolitan area and spend most of your life in bumper-to-bumper traffic, you really don't have many opportunities to enjoy the benefit of all that extra power.

Glad to see you still have faith in JLR because I seen some F-Pace owners give the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio a shot. Guess you can say the F-Pace is like a gateway product. Stelvio and Velar offer two different extremes of what the F-Pace has bits and pieces of.
